The Ayn Rand Lexicon
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Ayn Rand Lexicon, edited by Harry Binswanger, is a comprehensive source of information on Objectivism, the philosophy of Ayn Rand. Structured like an encyclopedia, it features the key statements by Ayn Rand (and a few from her associates), on some 400 topics in philosophy and the humanities. The book version is 534 pages. It was published by Plume in 1988 and made available on the web in 2007.
The Lexicon is a tool which can be used to check the views of Ayn Rand on specific topics, or to pursue a more in-depth study of related topics, using its cross-references, and the "conceptual index" to aid integrating Rand's ideas on a given topic into her total system of thought. Each excerpt is followed by a citation to its original source.
Harry Binswanger was a close associate of Ayn Rand and is one of the leading intellectuals of the Objectivist school of thought.
