TV.com summary |
The Associates was an American TV sitcom that aired in 1979, starring Martin Short, Wilfred Hyde-White, Joe Regalbuto, Tim Thomerson & Shelley Smith. The show was cancelled after only 9 of its 13 episodes aired, but was nominated for 2 Golden Globes after its cancellation.
One episode featured John Houseman in his Paper Chase role of Professor Kingsfield.
The show was the first bonafide starring vehicle for Short and centered on a small group of young novice lawyers who worked at a Wall Street law firm. Short later moved on to SCTV, Saturday Night Live, and numerous film, TV and theatre roles.
This show is not to be confused with the Canadian TV series "The Associates" which aired in 2001-2002.
