The Apex Tapes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Apex Tapes is a promotional interview CD sent to members of the press to promote the release of Gorillaz' debut album Gorillaz. It was released in March 2001 on the Parlophone label and contains 73 tracks, each one an answer to interview questions by the four Gorillaz members.
Being a virtual group, arranging an interview with the band members of Gorillaz was hard, although not entirely impossible, proved when they did some interviews on live radio before. The song "5/4" was mentioned to be one of their new singles in the interview CD but the single was eventually scrapped and never surfaced. A promotional music video had already been done for the song before the announcement, and so far the "music video" (which is actually an animatic) could be seen only on the Celebrity Take Down DVD.
