The Anti Mother will be the 4th album from Norma Jean. It will be the first release to feature new drummer Chris Raines. Chris Day and Scottie Henry will be the only members of the band to have appeared on all albums released by Norma Jean.

Norma Jean have announced that the album will feature several guest spots, currently the only two confirmed guests are Page Hamilton of Helmet and Chino Moreno of the Deftones[1], they have also stated that, "We are not just doing "guest vocal" spots for them either... every band does that... we are going to write songs with them". A recently released video shows that Ross Robinson is again taking up producing duties, as he did for Norma Jean's previous album Redeemer.

It was also recently revealed on the Norma Jean youtube channel that Cory will be playing a lot of guitar on the album as well as playing a lot live in the new shows to come.

Lead singer Cory Brandan comments on the new album and the meaning of the title:

The Anti Mother is a character we created which represents anything that is deceptive, and yet possesses an outwardly beautiful nature. This record is the most melodic album we’ve ever created, but it’s definitely the heaviest record Norma Jean has done as well--and furious at that.

—Cory Brandan[2]
