The Annual Twin Cities Hip Hop Awards

The Annual Twin Cities Hip Hop Awards is an urban muisc awards ceremony honoring the state of Minnesota's notable artists and their accomplishments within the previous year. It was originated by local St. Paul Native, David Powell in 2006 and has continued.

The 1st Annual Twin Cities Hip Hop Awards were held on January 20, 2007 at the University of Minnesota Campus in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. Over 1000 local Twin Cities hip hop, R&B and urban music artists, and even more fans attended the event. The event was hosted by High Society, ran by local emcee Depth. High Society is a respected hip hop organization in the Twin Cities who has taken the duty of putting together the awards show, through much criticism and critical acclaim. The Society is still working on obtaining more notoriety within the musical community.

The night included performances by Mista Maeham, FIC, Maria Isa, Toki Wright, True High Class, Rico Nevotion, Holler Early Fam, St. Paul Kings, DEPth, Ghetto Poets, Lyrasis, Sandman, Blaze 1 Camp, Tony Bones & Big Wiz, Young Maniak , Plus Envy & Leviticus

The 2nd Annual Twin Cities Hip Hop Awards Nominees were announced on November 13, 2007. Large categories include Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Twin Cities Next Up. They are scheduled to be held at the well known Varsity Theater in Dinkytown, Minnesota.
