The Alien Beats
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Before creating Spoon, frontman Britt Daniel toyed around with a few musical acts in the Austin area.[1] After his stint with Skellington, Britt played bass for a rockabilly-trio called The Alien Beats, releasing Cavin' In in 1993 on Syncretic Records. During a recording session for Cavin' In, drummer Jim Eno was brought in as a fill-in when the original drummer could not make it, but ended up becoming the full-on drummer.[2] The album was also co-produced by fellow Spoon-man Eno, thus introducing the two, which later led to the formation of Spoon in the following year.
