The Afterglow are an Italian rock band with clear English influence. Founder Members Dave Timson, Mik Lennard and Alex Cherry formed in 2004 with Cherry's brother also on bass. The band decided to base themselves partially in Italy and partially in the UK on account of their sound which it was felt was far more akin to an English 4-piece than a typical Italian band. Timson's ability to write and speak fluently in English on account of a Sheffield-born Mother greatly helped this endeavour. Their first single a 4-Track EP Modern Life Virus was released the same year. Their Second EP Love's The Cure featured Michael Madson on bass replacing Cherry. The single Love received much critical acclaim in both the UK and Italy and was featured on Italian MTV. 2006 proved to be something of a seminol year for the band, extensively on tour in both Italy and England their first album Decalogue Of Modern Life, mixed by Steve Orchard, was released in November. The band continued to record new material in 2006 and early 2007 despite the departure of Michael Madson. Continuing for a time as a 3-piece the band settled on their current 5-piece lineup in April 2007.
