[edit] Overview

Founded in Los Angeles in 1976 as a Voice Over recording studio and training center for aspiring Film/Television actors, The Actors Workshop remains one of California’s oldest and most respected acting programs. In 1980 the workshop dropped it’s voice over program, moved to orange County and began concentrating solely on Film Acting[1]. In just the first six months the workshop doubled it’s enrollment and by the following year began attracting some of Hollywood’s top Casting Directors which resulted in many it’s students landing important roles in both Motion Pictures and television. Young hopefuls such as Kristy Swanson, Brian Krause, Schae Harrison, Eric Norris and dozens of others went on to enjoy very lucrative careers as actors and directors.

In early 1990, the workshop added a three camera state of- the- art Television studio and notable Television and Film Directors like: Dennis Steinmetz, Richard Compton, Michael O’Herlihy, Ron Stephenson and Corey Allen made regular appearances to the school giving to students their insightful expertise and experience[2]

Now in it’s 32nd year, The Actors Workshop remains under the direction of it’s founder, Film Actor R.J. Adams and his son, actor Rob Adams which now includes acting workshops in North Hollywood as well as it’s long established Orange County location.
