[edit] History
After Jeff Buckley's death, Michael Tighe and Parker Kindred formed Black Beetle, along with Buckley's musician girlfriend Joan Wasser. Tighe had never seen Buckley's death as the end of his career, stating in 2003: "When Parker and I rehearsed with Jeff, I had flashes into the future. I saw a premonition that we were playing in the future and Jeff wasn’t there".[1] When Black Beetle split, with Wasser embarking on a solo career, Tighe and Kindred formed The A.M., along with bassist Andrew Wyatt.[2] Their self-titled album was issued in 2003 on Storm Music. With influences ranging from from 1970s glam rock to Joy Division and The Smiths,[1] their sound has seen comparisons with Suede,[2] David Bowie, King Crimson,[3] Roxy Music, and T-Rex.[4] As well as playing around the United States, they toured the United Kingdom and Ireland in 2003/4, as well as a date in Paris, receiving a positive critical reaction.[5][6][7]
In late 2004, Kindred left the band, to be replaced by another member of Jeff Buckley's band, Matt Johnson.[8] A second album was started but the band members moved on to other projects, with Tighe still working on the album.
