[edit] Synopsis

During its run, The 20th Century Fox Hour aired on Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. EST. It aired on alternate weeks, the other program in the lineup at the time being The U.S. Steel Hour. Many of the programs were shortened versions of classic 20th Century Fox films, remade with a cast of newer, lesser-known actors and generally a far lower budget than the originals. Films receiving this treatment included The Ox-Bow Incident, The Late George Apley, and Miracle on 34th Street, among others.

The series boasted several guest stars including Bette Davis, Gary Merrill, Steve McQueen, and Joan Fontaine.
