[edit] Lucy Benjamin
I think Lucy Benjamin should be included in this template, but just unsure where to put her. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 20:00, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- Should she go with the winners or on a separate line or somewhere else? Once she's added here, we can get rid of {{The X Factor winners}}. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 17:47, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Why?
Why have you created this template, when The X Factor already as one: Template:The X Factor?
GMctalk 16:20, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- That is this one. -- Chris as I am Chris 19:17, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- I think GMc probably means template:The X Factor UK. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 23:38, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I did. Sorry. :P

- Well, American Idol uses both, plus the other template dosn't contain all the info this does, and it isn't on each page, for example on the hosts pages, judges, etc. -- Chris as I am Chris 16:58, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- Besides, this is a navigation template, and the other one is an infobox, so I'm with Chris as I am Chris on this. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 17:10, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Maria Lawson
I think Maria Lawson should be included in Other alumni. She had a single and album out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.10.194.199 (talk) 19:06, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The MacDonald Brothers
OK, they were on over a year ago and have since released two albums getting into the top 20 (top 10 in Scotland), have toured by themselves and with Westlife and have had a song written for them by Sir Elton John. They've acheived every bit as much as any 'other alumni' and so if there is not a reasonable enough argument 'against' by this time next week - I am adding them to the template. 86.132.166.22 (talk) 22:28, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- The "other alumni" have all had top three singles and albums (apart from Lucy Benjamin, but she won the celeb show). I think that's the point of it, otherwise it'll get way too cluttered. anemone
Iprojectors 23:18, 19 November 2007 (UTC)- Yes, but arguably how many of the other alumni that aren't up there have released at least 2 albums of respectable chart position? I would argue none. GTlikeitmatters (talk) 11:58, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- The others who have articles are Tabby Callaghan, Cassie Compton, Rowetta, Maria Lawson, Brenda Edwards, The Conway Sisters, The MacDonald Brothers, Kerry McGregor and Daniel DeBourg. None of them have really had a major impact on the charts. anemone
Iprojectors 12:48, 20 November 2007 (UTC)- OK, and as said above, how many of them have had two albums released, at least one in the top 20? Arguably The MacDonald Brothers are on a par with Journey South success wise, or are certainly closer to them than the ones you've listed above in terms of record sales. 86.132.166.22 (talk) 22:23, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- None, that's why they're not in the template. The MacDonald Brothers' album reached number 18. That doesn't make them on par with Journey South, who had a number one album. According to the article, it sold the same number of copies as Maria Lawson's album. However, out of the above list, they are the next-most successful, followed by Lawson. I didn't know Scotland had a separate chart, but there are only 9 results on Google for "Scottish album chart"... By the way, if you are User:GTlikeitmatters, would you mind logging in to make comments as it makes it easier to know who said what. anemone
Iprojectors 22:48, 24 November 2007 (UTC)- I'm not User:GTlikeitmatters, but I thought I was referencing what I had said in the first comment, when in fact I referenced theirs when I was talking about the number of albums released. That still stands, have any made it to the significance of two albums? They are definitely not on a par with Maria Lawson and I think they should be up there - you haven't given me a decent enough reason why this should not be the case and would no doubt remove their name the second I put it onto the template, so I won't bother just now, but my point still stands and hasn't yet been properly opposed. 86.132.166.22 (talk) 21:09, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- I think they are on par with Maria Lawson, as far as album sales are concerned. I don't think reaching number 18 is significant enough, especially compared with the three acts listed in the template. Saying that, I'm not sure what the person who added the "do not add with discussion" part of the template was thinking when they added that, but I can only assume it was the same as what I'm saying now. anemone

[edit] Other alumni
Does anyone else agree that the Other alumni needs to be deleted from the template. It is opinion not a fact i think it should be replaced by runners up. In23065 (talk) 14:53, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- We should either include all the contestants with articles, or limit it to winners and runners up. I think it's better to remove the other alumni. All the contestants are in a category anyway. I think Lucy Benjamin should stay on the template though. anemone
