Talk:Thesaurus Linguae Latinae

[edit] Comments from TLL

I'm not sure whether Wikipedia approves if those associated with a subject edit it. I'm a TLL employee, so I'm just noting this here. The last sentence of the article is inaccurate, taking over some misunderstanding in the cited source (Britannica). The original contributors were the five German speaking academies: Berlin; Göttingen; Leipzig (Sächsische Gesellschaft der Wissenschaften / Sächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Leipzig - I can only find this in the German Wikipedia); Munich; Vienna. The academies are not universities in Germany. The universities of Leipzig etc. have nothing to do with the project. Something like this would be more accurate:
The project was instituted by the academies of Berlin, Göttingen, Leipzig, Munich and Vienna. Since 1949 the Thesaurus has been an international project, in which at present more than 20 academies and learned societies from three continents participate.

Thank you very much for your very polite and modest way of helping us. Someone (possibly me) will adjust the article a.s.a.p. Classical geographer 08:45, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
