[edit] Clean up tag
It's all very nice adding a clean-up tag, but perhaps you could explain why you feel it needs cleaning up? Content? Copyediting? NPOV?njh 23:28, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Electricity Generation
If the thermotunnel effect can be used (with input of electrical energy) as a refrigirator, can it run in inverse as a source of electrical energy? Polonium 15:39, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- Yes. I recall them proposing using thermotunnel coolers for extracting heat from the car exhaust to replace the alternator. They will be fairly efficient heat engines as they are fairly efficient heat pumps. An efficient heat pump is usually an efficient heat engine (over its working range). njh 08:36, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
If we can deposit a layer of cascium metal which has low work function (W.),then we can followed the thermotunnel cooling effect easily. When a four stroke engine burns the fuel in presence of oxygen it genrates a large amount of heat, after sufficient amount of heat is converted into mechincal work depending on its efficiency. Now,we know that thermal electrons are the carriers of heat .When these thermal electrons strike the cascium metal having very low (W.) ,they eject the electrons of the casciun metal towards the other electrode and produces a electric current ,which stores in the capcitor.By this we can convert the extra heat energy of the engine, which can rise the operating temperture of the engine into electrical energy. In sample language it can be use in cooling the engine, just like a coolent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.63.109.21 (vad) 12:42, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
