[edit] Chemically triggering thermoreceptors?
Scoville scale mentions that chemical compounds like capsaicin trigger thermoreceptors to create the illusion of heat. Menthol, on the other hand, apparently does the opposite. Are they triggering the very same thermoreceptors that are the subject of this article? If so, that should be worth explaining. Algae 08:51, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
