[edit] Saint?

I note that the photo caption refers to the subject as a "saint". Is this a formal designation within the Assyrian Church, and if so, is there any sort of list of individuals who have been designated as saints by the church? thank you. John Carter 19:20, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Saint?" again, and image

I agree with John Carter that the designation of "Saint" should be checked. He is certainly not a saint in the "Monophysite" churches (i.e. Coptic, Armenian, etc.), having been a staunch opponent of St. Cyril of Alexandria. In the Orthodox church (i.e. Chalcedonian) some of his works were condemned, but his memory is held in high regard as an adept theologian. Still, he is not considered a saint.

Also, the image on the page is not of Theodoret; it is of St. Paul. Horatio325 23:11, 3 September 2007 (UTC) Nick Marinides
