[edit] Roosevelt Quote

Several years ago, I recall reading or hearing about a interesting/amusing quote from Theodore Roosevelt's dedication speech on March 19, 1911 that I thought might be good to add to this article. Problem is, I can find it anywhere in print or on the internet. Does anyone have any clue what I'm talking about or know where I might find the text of his speech? Thanks, --Nebular110 23:54, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Roosevelt Lake vs. Lake Roosevelt

I've lived in Arizona for 30 years, and can't recall ever hearing (or reading) anyone call it "Lake Roosevelt". Other than in oficial documents, it's always called "Roosevelt Lake". I've edited the article accordingly. Cheers, Pete Tillman (talk) 21:10, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

I sailed on the lake for several years and heard both names. There's a Lake Roosevelt Yacht Club – as opposed to Roosevelt Lake Yacht Club – although I was only able to find one online reference to it (here, white text on white background for some reason). I do have a shirt from it somewhere.
I think the name is less common than Roosevelt Lake, but it seems to be attested in some places. Apache Trail lists an official website for the route, and it's referred to as Lake Roosevelt in the Roosevelt Dam section of the site (although the map at the bottom calls it Roosevelt Lake). A Google search found a good number of forum posts calling it that as well, although you have to dig through it, because "Saguaro Lake, Roosevelt Lake" would match for "Lake Roosevelt." There's also a National Weather Service discussion on a flash flood that clearly refers to the lake by this name.
I'm going to re-add "Lake Roosevelt" to the article as an alternate name, but I'll note that it's less common. • WarpFlyght (talkcontribs) 23:17, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
