Talk:Then Play On
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have removed the guitar and vocals credit for Jeremy Spencer until someone can prove that he contributed in that way on this album. Peter Green has said in 1999 that Spencer only played the piano on the instrumental section of "Oh Well" so I added that. I am not sure that Christine played piano on the album, but I've left it as it is for now. Bretonbanquet 23:44, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- I wonder even if Big Walter Horton played harmonica on the album. He's on "Fleetwood Mac In Chicago," but where is the evidence of him on here? The only harmonica I heard is on "One Sunny Day."
- I've heard both that Christine and Jeremy played that piano part, but Jeremy seems more likely, ay? I don't know which is true. Is there any other piano? There's a moment of simple organ at the tail end of "Closing My Eyes." It's also possible that "Peter Green's girlfriend" played the recorder on "Oh Well."
- My UK LP has a gatefold cover that appears to have contained an insert, perhaps a poster. Maybe it had some credits? There are no musician credits on the actual cover. Just the same picture of the five guys that's in the CD.
- I added more details about the differences between the various pressings. Some discussion of this can be found here: http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=69957&page=3&pp=20. My primary reference is the LPs and CD themselves, on which the evidence is clearly audible.--Sojambi Pinola 23:34, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

- Firstly, I've never heard that Horton played anything on this album. Not sure where that came from - any harmonica is likely to be Peter.

- Jeremy Spencer said very recently on The Ledge http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/forumdisplay.php?f=13 that he played piano on "Oh Well Pt 2", and I have an interview with Peter which says the same, so I think that one can be laid to rest. I've certainly heard that Peter's then-girlfriend Sandra Elsdon-Vigon plays recorder on that track though. The organ on "Closing My Eyes" - some say it's actually guitar. Damn hard to tell.
-
- I've never heard that there was a poster or insert with the album, but I may well be wrong. Good edits though! Bretonbanquet 00:19, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

- Should Jermany Spencer's credit be Under additional personel insted Of Fleetwood Mac becasue the part he played on was not featured to the orignal LP? 88.108.12.81 20:15, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
He was a full member of Fleetwood Mac and included in the photographs, so he goes in with the other members, despite only being on one track. There were only a couple of months before "Oh Well" was included on the album, and for 38 years it's been on there, so I think it's fair. Bretonbanquet 20:55, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
