[edit] Notability

I'm not sure the show merits an article of its own... Anyway, I've moved the page to "the mrbrown show" per the capitalization on mrbrown's site. -ryand 15:48, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi, this is the article's creator. I thought it would be nice to give a whole article to the show itself, since its not all about mrbrown though he started it. I was also contemplating moving it, so thanks for that. Good job with the cleanup, npov and picture, Protofox! Thanks for your help.

[edit] Advetising Notice

I personally don't think that the advertising notice is validated. Those are pretty much facts, judging from the number of downloads. Furthermore, the show is free, and I (as well as most of the page's editors) don't get anything out of it. Jedd the Jedi 10:27, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

First of all, the notice only indicated that the section read like an advertisement, without actually being one. (I'll admit I mistagged the section, anyway - I have since replaced {{advert}} with {{pov}}). That aside, the reason why I tagged the section in the first place is because of phrases like:
  • "The show has since grown into a nation-wide phenomenon"
  • "hilarious and sometimes-controversial shows"
  • "affectionately known"
that are filled with peacock words and unsourced claims. That the mrbrown show is hilarious, for example, is an opinion, not a fact. Also, the fact that the original source of the tagged section was the mrbrownshow.com itself doesn't help its case. All these compromise the neutrality of the article, and that is why I added the tag to the section. The section needs to be rewritten so that it presents a more neutral point-of-view. -ryand 12:05, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Okay, that makes sense to me. I've done my best to sort out these issues, so if you (protofox) or another editor feels it satisfactory, the tag can be removed. Jedd the Jedi 04:16, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Done. I've cleaned the section up a bit more and added a few tags requesting citation. I'll look up references for some of the statements in the article someday when I'm free, but feel free to cite references for as many unsourced statements as possible. If you need help, see WP:CITE. Good luck! -ryand 15:13, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! If I remember correctly, there is one off-air mrbrownshow entry which requsts advertisers, in October. I think the number of downloads for their popular shows is listed there. Jedd the Jedi 04:22, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Mrbrownshowdigitallife.jpg

Image:Mrbrownshowdigitallife.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:23, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
