Talk:The Wolds
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There are a bunch of villages in the Nottinghamshire/Leicestershire border area called "on the Wolds" or somesuch. These are
- Normanton-on-the-Wolds
- Stanton-on-the-Wolds
- Willoughby-on-the-Wolds
- Wymeswold
- Prestwold
- Burton on the Wolds
- Walton on the Wolds
These form pretty much a line. I can't find much reference to the area actually being called "The Wolds", though, although it must have been once. Perhaps it has a more specific name? Morwen - Talk 19:29, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
The Cotswolds are also a range of English hills with place names such as Stow on the Wold. They are a completely separate range of hills in the South West of England.
