The Lively Ones did not write Surf Rider. It is actually a cover of the Ventures song "Spudnick" from the Mashed Potato & Gravy Album written by guitarist Nokie Edwards. Someone please edit this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.116.125.97 (talk) 21:31, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

I don't think The Ventures wrote the theme for Hawaii Five-0, I think Morton Steven did. They only performed it. But I'm not sure. --Kricke

They featured the song on an album (if memory serves) of the same name. I think you are correct in saying they did not write it, but I'm not sure who did. Should be able to find out - check back later. --WCFrancis 04:06, 7 May 2005 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure Morton Stevens wrote the Hawaii Five-0 theme, not the Ventures. See here: Imdb, CD on Amazon and Hawaii Five-O Production Staff for example. --Kricke, 22:03 13 June 2005 (CET)

[edit] Things to add

  • Relationship with Mosrite guitars - endorsed until 1969.
  • Outsold Beatles in Japan in 1960's.
  • First vinyl LP I ever bought was one of theirs. No, wait, that's neither notable nor verifiable.

[edit] Clean-up

Oh man, I'm FUMED. I was almost done giving this article the much-needed makeover it deserves, when my computer crashed. There's alot of things in this article that aren't necessary, and alot of parts that make it sound really promotional. Most of this is copy and pasted. The history section should be divided up into sections. I had it divided into Early history, 1960's and beyond, and line-up changes. After History, I had added a members section, divided into the original four, and later members. If anyone could take over, that'd be cool. For now, however, I'm giving up. Okbye! --EndlessVince 20:32, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
