Is there some industry source for the term or is this a regional colloquialism for the previews? Dismas|(talk) 09:35, 13 September 2005 (UTC)

It's a branded block of advertising that calls itself "The Twenty," and refers to itself throughout it's run, as in "Did you miss any part of The Twenty? Next time come the the theatre earlier!" I think it's specifically found in one of the major American theatre chains (Regal?), but I'm not positive on that.
In any case it's normally a coke ad, a fanta ad, a car ad, a few trailers, and one or two behind-the-scenes segments. All in all it's a fairly crappy way to begin a movie--it's like going to see a great comedian and having the warm-up act put you in a awful mood.
Boy, I can't find anything that mentions this term. I've seen plenty of movies, including the Regal chain and never heard of it. I may prod this if no sources are provided...Rx StrangeLove 02:27, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
The Regal Entertainment Group page makes reference to their advertising called "The 2wenty" which starts about 20 minutes prior to the posted start time for the movie. I am not sure how many other chains have similar programs. At the end of the program, they still show the standard movie previews.
