THE TOUR ChampionshipThe Tour Championship — We don't write article titles in all caps unless they are acronyms or initialisms. See for example PGA Tour, which is written as "PGA TOUR" by them PGA's marketing department, but as "PGA Tour" by the rest of the world. — sjorford++ 14:19, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Support as the ALL CAPS is intended for logo use only, not in real sentences.--Nick Dillinger 22:58, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
  • Oppose for the same reason articulated on the other talk pages; I've seen them write this in ordinary sentences and they put it in all caps. They own the trademark.
  • Support as the links from the PGA Tour page on Wikipedia for "THE PLAYERS Championship", "The INTERNATIONAL", "84 LUMBER Classic", and "FUNAI Classic at the WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort" are all redirected to pages using the more traditional, first letter capitalized format, for their titles. --K1darkknight 06:02, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion

Add any additional comments

The first sentence of the general description of this tournament states that "Beginning in 1997, the event alternated...". This event (under its former name, "Nabisco Championship") originated in 1987. Was this supposed to say "Beginning in 1987..."? If 1997 is the correct year, where was this event held, prior to '97? --K1darkknight 06:07, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

I just moved it, makes sense. -- Kim van der Linde at venus 20:10, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Page move

I reverted the name of the article in line with previously established consensus here on the talk page. We can reopen discussion on that issue if anyone objects, but we should work it out here first, not in a revert war. --Xyzzyva 04:54, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 2007 Tournament Purse Section

To All Wiki Editors ...

I used the TT Pre-Format Code for display of the Purse Breakdown, because it is easier to read.

Pity that Wikipedia doesn't permit some type of allowance for use of HTML code within PRE, TT or CODE areas. It would certainly help.

[edit] Tour Championship 3-year exemption

Greetings ...

The PGA Tour's Exemption Category Page shows that the Tour Chmpionship exemption has been 3-years since 2002.

However, the 1998 PGA Tour Media Guide (plus each annual edition since) shows the Tour Championship exemption as being 3-years beginning 1998.
