This remake of a cult film does not itself have a reputation staked on a small fanbase. Low in budget, it was marketed to a mass audience, most of whom received it as a conventional horror film. While apologizers for this remake may exist, the legacy of this film is based on the video market for modern horror rather than on a devoted following. Jonathan F 23:19, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

No, you can't. Advocates for a remake of a regarded film are appropriately called apologizers: they offer the view that the remake is acceptable or justified, while other fans of the original might be more resistant. Jonathan F 08:05, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

So this has nothing to do with your personal opinion on the matter? Because it seems you have a negative bias towards the film. Although not explicitly stated, it was implied that the family was cannibals; the salt on the wounds, the false teeth, the severed body parts, etc, etc, etc.--CyberGhostface 01:21, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

I missed about half of this film, I watched it on Sky Movies. I missed the Chandaliar death and another Chainsaw death, I think it was the blonde girl.

[edit] Footage

The film shows footage that claims to be taken from the police files at the investigation of the "real" leatherface - does anybody know if this is true (if the footage is real)? I feel like it would make an interesting addition to the article, as well as other references to the 'true' story that tcm is based on. -Elizabennet | talk 02:04, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

You're joking, right?

There was NEVER a real Leatherface. The closest thing there was to it actually happening (in terms of it being inspired by a true story) was Ed Gein, a nutcase who wore people's skins and made furniture from bones.

Look at this site for more info.

I added a fairly detailed plot summary. You may edit for grammatical errors and such, but please do not leave it as it was before. The previous summary was highly ambiguous and provided no real summary of the movie.

The summary is still fairly incomplete. A number of scenes, such as Hoyt's first appearence and the scenes with the other family members, are missing.--CyberGhostface 01:25, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, fix it then. Atleast it's more detailed than what was there before. And besides, you don't need a complete play-by-play, like the summary for the remake of Black Christmas.

We don't need a specific play-by-play but at the same time certain plot elements need to be introduced. If you're going to mention Jedidah then bring up how he tried to stop Leatherface, for example.--CyberGhostface 21:22, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Does anyone think Erin should have her own Wikipedia article? I mean almost everyone else in the film has one, and the survivor of the original TCM has one, so I think one about Erin should be added.

Ok I added a very basic page called Erin (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre). It is a stub and lacks a lot, but has the very basic information needed. Anyone that would like to contribute is welcome to.
