[edit] The Teenagers (new band)

There's another musical group going by the name of "The Teenagers". According to Last.fm they're "a French pop-electro-rock band hailing from Paris but living in London." A quick Google search seems to turn up just as many results for the new group as for the old. In addition, as far as I can see, virtually all of the Last.fm plays are from this more recent band, not the older group. (Of course, the Last.fm community is probably not representative of the music-listening community as a whole.) I doubt they fit the notability guidelines of WP:MUSIC (at least, not at the present time), but I figured I'd bring them up to see if anyone thinks they deserve to be mentioned, have their own page, etc. Imaginaryoctopus(talk) 05:51, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I also came here looking for the French group. I would suggest The Teenagers, the french group, are notable enough to have their own article. They meet criterion 4 for musicians and ensembles; "Has received non-trivial coverage in a reliable source of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country." See http://www.nme.com/news/the-teenagers/34920, though I understand this is probably the most contensious of the criterion and I suppose the NME article may be seen as trivial, though seeing as it was solely about the Teenagers tour I don't think it is trivial. They also possibly meet Criterion 1, there are various published reviews of their singles and live shows from reputable sources; see http://www.nme.com/reviews/8571, http://www.prefixmag.com/news/teenagers-love-no/16735/, http://www.drownedinsound.com/articles/2409394 etc.
I have heard their new single 'Love No' played on Radio 1 a few times though I do not believe it is on rotation. Their debut album 'Reality Check' is released in the UK on March 17 and they may become more notable after this. Clearly the American Doo-Wop band are far more notable and this should remain the default page when searching The Teenagers, I do believe the French Group need their own article though. I'm fairly new to wikipedia so not entirely confident creating articles. I may try and create a short stub however if no one else does.80.195.246.3 (talk) 21:03, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

I am the user above (80.195.246.3), this is my new username. I have created a new article for the french band at The Teenagers (French band) and added an Other Uses link at the top of this article to the page. Please see the talk page at Talk:The Teenagers (French band) for further discussion on the French band. Thanks! Peteds (talk) 01:12, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
