Talk:The Summerall Guards
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Very nice article. I just brought it into wiki form by linking to other articles within wikipedia. Needs some POV work still. The article The Citadel (military college) does not link to this article as yet. It should. --Brad101 02:05, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Do you just dislike the Guards that much or did you not make the unit and are pissed over that? Think of all the other things you could do with the time and energy you spend spewing this hatred. I'd really hate to see what happens when something really bad happens in your life. It's sad to think that you wear the ring and you have to spend your time obsessing over the Summerall Guards which have absolutley no impact or bearing on anything that happens outside of the college. Maybe it's time to grow up and move on.
I have returned the page to represent the information that it presented before any major changes. The Summerall Guards have traditionally been presented in the light as a better part of the University. From simple observation this is not true. The actual story of the Guards should be presented; not just a false viewpoint of someone in the organization trying to hide the actual dirty laundry of the group. The remarks about the training being humiliating...true. The remarks about discouraging women...true. These are not remarks of hatred. These are the truth. If the person in the group who so fervently defends it wishes to live in the world of denile that they have created for themself, then that is okay by me. I was simply trying to give the public the actual facts regarding the Summerall Guards. I took part in the training and was a member of the Summerall Guards, and I do not appreciate the shots that you take at me. I am just dissapointed in what the organization has become. You obviously prove my point in your biased, opinionated take on the group, and in your ignorant attack on a graduate of The Citadel. To be honest, I feel incredibly sorry for you, and I pray that the Citadel is still turning out people of real worth.
