This was a fairly successful and widely-read book at the time of publication, and it's also an excellent piece of literature, so I think it deserves a more comprehensive article. I was originally put onto the novel by an honours thesis I was reading,[1] so that may serve as a jumping-off point to get more material. -Nasica (talk) 11:10, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

- Chapter #15 was 1880; Chapter # 16 was 1948.
