The reference to Guiseppe's mother, who says "Dress Warm", does not imply that the mother knew that Yossarian was not their dead son. what she "seemed to know" was that, wherever her son was going, heaven or hell, he'd need warm clothing.
There are other incidents where characters do not accept the obvious, such as the non-death of Doc Daneeka, and the Dead Man in Yossarian's tent.
