uhmmh... can I get a little help here from a more experienced wiki? I could really use a hand. I'm not in the band btw. Check out my user profile or google me if you don't believe me. Leigh8959 23:25, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Your concerns don't fall on a deaf ear, but why would you want help if the article is going to get deleted? I'd be glad to help you with other articles, of course.--Kchase T 23:30, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't the article be saved if it is follows all the guidelines? I thought that was the whole point. Leigh8959 23:40, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
The guideline (actually a disputed guideline) that most people think it doesn't meet is Wikipedia:Notability. That guideline says that something must be the subject of multiple, non-trivial published works to be included in wikipedia. Without such coverage, it doesn't warrant inclusion. Ironically, I think that the sources you just added drive the article to the borderline, but despite mentioning them in the AfD, no one has changed their mind, so I dunno. Part of this may also be that Wikipedians don't think a band should be able to get itself in via the backdoor of raising a fit with the media and then getting coverage as a controversy. Someone has said as much in the AfD. In any case, you wrote a good article on an unfortunately non-notable subject. I'm sorry people aren't being very polite about it at AfD.--Kchase T 02:34, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
In reference to your comment about "raising a fit with the media and then getting coverage as a controversy." Most of the members of the band had no idea they even had a wikipedia page, and none of them knew it was slated for deletion until the Washington Post contacted its lead singer. All press was initiated by members of the media, not by the band.Mercury0 T 02:30, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi Kchase... thanks for your help so far. I was just interviewed by CBC Radio One (the Canadian National radio station). They contacted me because the wanted to do a segment on the "war that is raging within wikipedia". Do you know how I should reference that on this page? Contrary to what some of the deletionists might think, I do not plan to make a page for myself! I'm actually starting to think that many of the wikis that have been around for a very long time are getting tiered and grumpy. I get the impression that they are sick of "improving articles" about obscure things. However, we are writing about the sum of ALL human knowledge... not the sum of SOME human knowledge... that simply does not have a very nice ring to it. Wikipedia is not paper. Please note that the Radio source reference will be completed as soon as I get the URL for the podcast. I'm waiting for an email. Thank you for your patience Leigh8959 16:47, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
