[edit] Should Be Removed

I am not sure what is the official policy on deleting articles but one thing seems to me quite logical: If there is to be a special entry in Wikipedia on this book, then surely all published books by Jehovah's Witnesses should be included (eventually). But I really think that it is more reasonable to include only those publications of special significance. Soukie 13:17, 20 October 2005 (UTC)

You know what? I happened to think the exact same thing as I was adding the tag to this Talk page last night. Does anyone else have any thoughts, or shall we go ahead and see about getting it deleted?Tommstein 16:17, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
Long-term I think most of the current publications and the important out-of-print ones should have articles. If someone receives a publication at the door, they should be able to look it up here and see what it's about.
I think in the short-term, only publications with special significance need their own articles. That said, on Wikipedia, if a stub article will be expanded later, it isn't usually deleted. --K. AKA Konrad West TALK 00:27, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
Shouldn't the book itself be a pretty good indication of what the book's about though? I don't think that we're gonna do a whole lot better here than could be accomplished by looking at the table of contents and maybe skimming through some of the introduction or first chapter or whatever. An article would seem to be more useful to someone that doesn't have the book. I don't know how many people that don't have Jehovah's Witness books and don't even know what they're about search on Wikipedia for specific ones, but maybe it's not such a bad thing for completeness. But the thing is, as you said, if we keep this relatively-insignificant book, we're probably gonna need articles for a whole heck of a lot more books.Tommstein 05:18, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
I am preparing to update the contents and the structure of List of Jehovah's Witnesses literature. I feel that placing a book in a certain category, and possibly adding some important note (if anyone feels there is something about the book that should be mentioned in Wikipedia) in this list is enough. Moreover, the article List of Jehovah's Witnesses literature has the potential of serving the needs mentioned above better than having a separate article for every publication. If we can agree on this, I suggest this article and also the article My Book of Bible Stories be removed. Since this involves two different articles, I suggest we contuinue the discussion on the WikiProject Jehovah's Witnesses talk page. Soukie 11:55, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
