[edit] Record of Wins/Losses

I know I've seen it somewhere online but I can't seem to find the total history for every game played in the rivalry. Please help me to complete this page. Plm209 18:57, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

I extracted it from a Lafayette football media guide and manipulated it in in Excel. Please proofread it to make sure I don't transpose anything. GCW50 01:33, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

I also removed the color coding for brown and red. While cute, it violates Wikipedia guidelines.

Also can we change the article title to "The Rivalry"? The media guides refer to it as that and we thus could further cement our claim on it just like "The Game" article does for Harvard-Yale. GCW50 14:00, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lehigh-Lafayette Rivalry

I reverted the vandalism and changed it back to the original title. That way it's consistent with all of the other Wikipedia article references to it that I had originally created. However, In fairness, I also changed the link on the Lafayette College page so it displays it there as "Lafayette-Lehigh Rivalry" but still directs here. Hopefully, that's a workable compromise. As my brother went to Lafayette, I know they obviously refer to it as the "Lehigh" Game.

Until folks from Lafayette have actually added more content to this page than Lehigh folks (who so far have contributed EVERYTHING), it will stay as the Lehigh-Lafayette Rivalry. GCW50 02:47, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Name of article

I think we should really consolidate both the Lehigh-Lafayette and Lafayette-Lehigh rivalry pages into one sing page titled "The Rivalry" and redirect to that page. This way, both pages are not the exact same thing (save the first sentence) and both do not have to be updated. What does everyone think about this issue?? (I have also posted this on the Lafayette-Lehigh page for those who do not read this page) Plm209 22:48, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Consolidation

As suggested, it's been renamed The Rivalry and consolidated. The links on both schools pages now refer to it this way. Let's try and get the Brown and White and The Lafayette as well as both sports information departments to use this one term more consistently.

Try to keep the article neutral. As an aside, I'm Lehigh '72 and my brother is Lafayette '76, so I understand both sides. If you can't get to the game in person, joint Lehigh Lafayette alumni game parties are a blast.

[edit] Elaboration

Anyone know why they didn't play in 1896? Also, if someone could check each years score, I'd appreciate it. I manually typed them in. GCW50 14:34, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Also, as I reside in the Wilkes-Barre, PA area, where was the 1891 game 16 game played in WB? Why was it played at this site? Plm209 21:14, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Linkages

If you can find more references to "Lehigh-Lafayette" or "Lafayette-Lehigh" to change to "The Rivalry" throughout Wikipedia, please do so. GCW50 14:34, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Two bald guys fighting over a comb?

I came here hoping for a list of major college football rivalries. Like, for instance USC vs. Notre Dame. Instead I get Lehigh vs. Lafayette -- two bald guys fighting over a comb.

Then you went to the wrong page. What you describe is already listed elswhere; see the college football rivalry category link at the bottom of the page.

Whether the two minor-league professional football teams you mention really are made of college students (people who study the same subjects, take the same exams and graduate the same rate as the other students at their college) is what's debatable. GCW50 20:53, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

I concur Plm209 21:38, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Neutrality

Why is the neutrality of this article being disputed? Could you please cite the outlandish statements that you see? I would be happy to help clarify/dispute them. Plm209 20:34, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
