Talk:The Plague Dogs (film)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I decided to write an interpretation topic to flesh out the article, Feel free to edit as appropriate.
[edit] Plot
I have a good summary here I think; 2 short paragraphs, to the point, gives 'summary' of plot w/o documenting every 'turn' the plot takes. I'd say it's somewhat similar to what would be on a DVD package, but w/o the marketing hooks.Gmenright 14:39, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm not very good at condensing plot summaries! If anyone could tweak the plot section (without eliminating important plot details) to make it an easier read then we'll all be champion. Blue Phoenix 14:07, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
I'll try to do it in my spare time, thank you.
Someone has edited out the words subliminal, The reason I put it in was because the film is very double-minded in it's story and wasn't really suggesting much unless you look beneath the surface.
I made a few changes at the end. First off, Snitter does not admit there is no island, rather he doubts it by saying "If there is any island, Rowf". Secondly, the phone call from the undersecretary happens in the uncut before the army catches up with the dogs on the beach back at the research station, the cut shows this while focusing on the ocean. Thirdly, the uncut shows Rowf uttering his last words "Just stay with me...I'll get you there".
I find it offensive the interpretations was deleted without discussion, considering other movie articles on wikipedia certainly have this and it was to make the article better. I will try to do one again another time, and when I do *DON'T* delete it. I consider it rude without discussion.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donnie_Darko#Interpretations for example is fan commentary, please try to realise this and let's make this article better by fleshing it out.
Who are the idiots who make this page? It's becoming more downgraded as time goes along with the removal of the picture and the interpretations which are perfectly acceptable in other articles about film. I will delete this whole article very soon and start from scratch.
[edit] Although?
"Although using hand-drawn animation, the story doesn't shy away from depicting the violence and cruelty the dogs encounter throughout the story."
I don't think it matters if it's animated or not. Any medium can depict violence; what makes animation special? I say this sentence be deleted.Poonerpoob 07:53, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, most western animation is considered animation for family, including kids. Of course, if you look into niche movies or japanese anime, then you can see quite a lot of violence. The sentence simply relates to the prejudice animation = made for children (thanks to Disney)--210.225.86.130 (talk) 06:09, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Dead link?
I went to http://plaguedogs.therabbitbungalow.com/ and it errored almost immediatly for me. I would remove the link, but it may be my connection, or a momentary hiccup on the server. Regardless, I"m mentioning it here so that if the page is still gone in a time, the link can be removed. 68.220.240.160 20:56, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
It doesn't work for me either. Poonerpoob 21:37, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Me neither, that's strange. I used to visit that website (therabbitbungalow.com) all the time. You see, it's a fan site for watership down and plague dogs, I wonder what happened to it. ah well, we should just have it removed. - Anonymous reader 11:09, 16 November 2007
