Talk:The Pick of Destiny
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This page should be merged to Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny as that is the correct name of the movie. -- Corey.spring 00:03, August 20, 2005 (UTC)
BUT that article is for the MOVIE... this article is for the SOUNDTRACK ALBUM. Antmusic 19:44, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, that's why the title of the article should be Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny (album) Milchama 17:20, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Best Buy exclusive
Best Buy's version of the album comes with an Exclusive download too. Should this be added to the article?
It has now been added.
[edit] Correct title?
Shouldn't the title be "The Pick of Destiny"? I say this because there is no word "in" in the title for the album. To put it in a different way, the way the album reads is "Tenacious D - The Pick of Destiny" and the way the movie reads is "Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny".
Also, MusicBrainz lists the album as "The Pick of Destiny".

- It appears that i had made a mistake, and have undone my move. Sorry. Milchama 18:09, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Editions of the CD?
Should we add information that the special edition of the CD comes with poster, 6 "tarot cards", 3D cover, presentation box and The Pick Of Destiny? JebJoya 15:18, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I definitely think that's pertinent. Joltman 17:20, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Metal
I don't remember that one being in the movie either. Unless I missed it, it should be mentioned with "The Government Totally Sucks".--69.210.97.81 00:11, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
That song(the Metal) was at the end of the credits, after the POD played. The govt totally sucks is an extra track that was supposed to be on the first CD, but they didn't, so it's on this one.
The goverment totally sucks was originally in the movie but was cut
[edit] Incorrect or Not?
""History", a song that originated on the band's TV show, Tenacious D, was re-recorded for this album, with additional lyrics.[3] "The Government Totally Sucks" is the only song not to be featured in the final cut of the movie. It is, however, featured in the deleted scenes section of the DVD release."
While Kyle and Jables are in their car, doesn't JB sing The Goverment Totally Sucks?Talk User:Fissionfox 11:41, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Master Exploder
Can someone put in some information on the custom guitar in the movie for master exploder? You know, the one that looks like legs? --Sherwood-Nightshade 16:53, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
No, as this is about the soundtrack. If it should go anywere, it should go into the movie page at least. And i think they are icecream cones that guitar shape. 203.160.119.198 (talk) 21:13, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:TenaciousDInThePickOfDestinySoundtrack.jpg
Image:TenaciousDInThePickOfDestinySoundtrack.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. [edit] Laugh in the metal
Interesting theory. The tracks weren't recorded 'live', ie Dr G wasn't present when they performed it. I am guessing he laughs at the headphone feed. Also, anyone notice the audible "fuck" at the end of Lee? Tenacious D Fan (talk) 17:50, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
I think it's the echo or reverb effect on the voice of Jack. And right, they recorded it part-for-part (see the special features on the DVD from "The Pick of Destiny").
That part of the article is wholly unnecessary. It contains no cited sources, has nothing to do with the recording or production of the album. If anything, put it in a "Trivia" section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.159.205.132 (talk) 17:58, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
