[edit] Notability
CherylB, I could do this for you, but I have concerns about the notability of the ministry. Has the church been featured in national news media for its activity, or even written up in a reputable religion publication? At the moment it seems like a nice project but not something that most people who aren't homeless in Boston would have heard of. If it is moved to the Wikipedia namespace, it is likely to be put up for deletion discussion as soon as someone notices it and has the same questions I did. There's no reason for me to AFD something on a User page, but I didn't think that I should move something that I would AFD if I saw it as an article. --Dhartung | Talk 03:40, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Response to Notability
Let me share two major publications with the Wikipedia community: (1) The Boston Globe published an article about The Outdoor Church entitled "Ministry finds prophecy in the streets" on December 25, 2004, in the City & Region section. (2) The New Zion's Herald published an article entitled "Scott Campbell on Faith: 'Rainy Day Grace'" on March 3, 2004, in the Perspective section. -- CherylB-TOC 21:25, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please Help
I am unable to figure out how to create a user sub-page within my own user namespace. I used the instructions - or was trying to: I went to CherylB-TOC, clicked on Edit this Page, put in User:CherylB-TOC/name of subpage, and saved the page. I got my new page: User:CherylB-TOC/Tuckerman article. However, my original user page now has the link I just made and then the first article I wrote "The Outdoor Church." Is this how my user page should look? When I click on the (Redirected from User:CherylB-TOC)link, it takes me to my user page which shows only the redirect of The Outdoor Church article; it does not have any way to get to my sub-page for the Tuckerman article.
I hope I am making sense and realize I may not be, for which I apologize. I am new to Wikipedia and more than a little confused at this point. Thank you kindly, Cheryl
- I am a bit confused by what you're asking, but let me see if I can help. You want to make a page called User:CherylB-TOC/Tuckerman article, correct? The reason you make a link on your user page is that clicking on the red link should take you to an edit page where you can create that subpage. Then, you're free to delete the original link you made (unless you want to keep it, of course). It seems you have created a redirect from your userpage to The Outdoor Church which is a really bad idea since it makes it a lot more difficult for people to get to your userpage if they keep getting redirected.
- Your Tuckerman article still exists - you'd have to link to it in order to get a link, if that makes any sense at all @_@; Sorry if I'm totally missing your question...
- By the way, remember to always sign your name on discussion pages like this one with four tildes (~~~~). —Keakealani •Poke Me•contribs• 21:49, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please Help
Thank you to Keakealani. Given his comments about the redirect of the article on The Outdoor Church, how do I get rid of the redirect so that my user page is clean. Thank you. CherylB-TOC 14:54, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
- Just edit your page and delete everything on it....since it's your own page it shouldn't be a problem. I think, anyway...it's not a problem, I'm glad to help ^_^ —Keakealani •
