[edit] Team photo

there's a fantastic photo of the whole team in their street clothes at the Rugby Museum site and I'm sure their must be others somewhere of the team decked out in their rugby kit. I'm not an expert on Wikipedia policy concerning copyright issues of photos (in fact I find it quite confusing), but considering that such photos would be older than 100 years, would we be able to use them here? Can someone look into this? It would be a great addition to the Players section. GringoInChile 10:36, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Deans Try

Why on earth is there no mention of Bob Deans "try" against Wales? probably one of the most famous sporting events ever.

[edit] GA on hold

  • In the refs, you should use – for the hyphens in the page numbers, refs 90 and 91
  • In the main body when referring to the score, the ndash should also be used instead of the plain keyboard hyphen, eg 21-3 etc.
  • Date formats need to be consistent. Some are January 6, some are September 25 etc
  • Numbers need to be consistent. Some are 8000 and others have commas like 12,000
  • One of the not so good things is that the All Blacks website is used as a source. Mostly in these cases it was ok since it was only the match scores and it wasn’t used as a source for subjective things which might have POV problems. However, ref number 84 uses the All Blacks ref for things like “Although the All Blacks dominated” Having said that, finding a third party ref would make the article look more professional
  • On the first mention of the name of a player in the main body, his full name and wikilink should be used. In this article, some players are simply referred to by their surname, or in the case of some opposing players, they are mentioned without being wikilinked. They should be wikilinked even if the articles don’t exist at the moment because Test caps are notable
  • One section of the article has no refs at all - second half of Wales Test
  • Lead needs to be more substantial for such a long article.
  • For such an iconic team, there should be a discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of the team and their general tactical play. At the moment, the article lacks such a section
  • NPOV/OR is fine
  • IMAGES are fine
  • Comprehensive, yeah

I have done all of the above except for four things:
  • I have not yet expanded the lead, but will do so soon.
  • I'll add a section on innovations and tactics, but at the moment do not have access to the books I used. So I'll do this in the next two days.
  • I havn't yet referenced the second half of the Wales section for the same reason as above, but will do it when have the books.
  • I have not changed the allblacks.com references. The reason is that they are a mirror of the info at rugbymuseum.co.nz and the rugbymuseum site is a third party source. All the match and player profiles are written by sports historians, and so I have no reason to doubt their reliability, although I understand why you bought this up.
Anyway I will address those other things as soon as I can. - Shudde talk 05:41, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
I believe I've addressed everything now. Please let me know if anything else needs to be done. - Shudde talk 05:25, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
