[edit] Alternative interpretations

Discussion at the time of its release favoured another interpretation for what the film showed. By digging through the centre of the Earth the peasants had in fact encountered what would have been a vision of Hell rather than paradise. Hell was ably represented by a New Zealand town after about 6pm. 60.242.50.195 21:16, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
