[edit] Discussion
Isn't this a little shady? Sounds like an ad to me. I don't know a thing about the Monroe Institute, but maybe someone can clean this up and make it a bit more encyclopaedic?
I agree. I know a bit about TMI, but not enough to add anything specific. Maybe something about its history?
- It doesn't really read like an ad, I do agree, though, that the article is far from complete. I've read Monroe's books many times and I will slowly add to this article as time permits. Huwie 11:51, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

- Reads more like a newspaper article than an encyclopedia article. Especially the quotation of a reporter. --130.191.196.46 15:34, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

- Not really. The first two paragraphs are fine, and the second two are clearly marked as information reported by a journalist. Huwie 18:55, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ongoing Work
Hello. This page needs some clean up and I've started by adding a Talk Header.
-
- I've also added this to the parapsychology Paranormal Group due to the nature of work at Monroe.
-
- There are many independent sources for this page. I'm not sure why it's so light.
-
- I've also removed the Ad warning, as this is an active clean-up, and it's not an ad (It' a nonprofit organization; what would they sell?) (I've also saved backups of the original code and page should anyone care for a visual before/during/after progession report.) Maxwellordinary 03:10, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
-
- Ok, the thing needs more citations; I've added one. The organization isn't a "Monroe family deal" anymore. Monroe's daughter, Laurie, died and the place is under board control now according to the Institute's site. I'll need to find sources, and update that. I do see, however, why this needs work. The second rule of editing to Assume Good Faith advertising agencies do not produce poor work. And this has the marks of a newbie. Maxwellordinary (talk) 06:01, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Applying citations, as promised.
-
- Added WikiProject Paranormal user designation, as this is the pattern I'm following with page enhancements. I trust that this will be agreeable to the originating author.
- This needs an infobox... searching for best one. --Maxwellordinary 20:12, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
-
- Infobox added and populated
- Article structure added; it still needs populated. I'll try to add some tonight --Maxwellordinary 21:52, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Below is the structure template I've created. I pulled it from the article for now, but I think this will create a better article and meet standards.

[edit] Ongoing work
Thanks for your work on this page - glad someone is finally working on it!
I know lots about TMI (The Monroe Institute), but don't really know too much about Wikipedia protocol, so I'm a bit hesitant to add anything. If you want I can still try to stop by and give you a hand.

[edit] Check above structure
Hello Progrockradio! I think this article could best be fleshed-out using the skeleton above. In other words, pick an area from the above and supply the data on the article page (not here). I'm crunched for time, but if you begin filling in the skeleton I'll tweak as needed (or someone else will).
Monroe isn't a family business anymore. So that sentence needs correction and proper citation. Based on Incorperation papers and IRS documents, a change occured in the 80's. That's when it moved into a NP/board based entity, as far as I can tell. You may wish start there, and cite the source. State and federal documents are on their site, as provided by law.
There have been many books, articles and radio programs about Monroe over the years. Please find and cite those. Keep an eye out for critical analysis, too. A good article tells the story from several angles.
