Talk:The Mole (U.S. Season 3)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The show's first episode says the pot can be worth up to $250,000; but this page's descriptions of the challenges gives me a total of at least $454,000 dollars; and the winner got $233,000, with the team certainly losing at least $17k. So what's with the discrepancy? TheHYPO (talk) 03:13, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

That's how it was with the opening on both Hawaii and Yucatan, even though both seasons' possible winnings were well over the $250,000. I believe the ABC people wanted a nice even number that was close to, and higher than, the winner's prize. In reality, none of the four seasons so far had exactly the possible prize given in the opening. I think season 1 was the closest at $60,000 over, while season 2's possible was about $100-$200 thousand above the million (that's something I've wanted to get an actual number on sometime soon). So it is something they've done before, just not to the extreme they did with the Celeb editions where the total possible was in actuality almost double the given value. S. I believe the first season came up with a correct million dollar total IF you factor in that the Bullfight tienta was a "bonus" and I believe the sheep counting total number was also a "bonus" [I'm not entirely sure if it was stated as a bonus though]. Without those values, I believe the total ends up being a million dollars. TheHYPO (talk) 04:15, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
