[edit] Rejuvenation of Synopsis

I have taken a little bit of time to write a big chunk of the synopsis. I found the original did little in the way of summerising the actual event of the film and it was quite central on Sister Bridget. I have reworked the Sister Bridget section and written a little on some of the other significant scenes of the film (the humiliation, the escape etc.). I haven't reverted, however, into blow by blow plot summary, which does not seem quite approapriate in the article. I hope others are happy with the changes I have made.

BTW: Is the woman who helps Bernadette and Rose a relative? Clarification anyone? Thanks!

I have deleted the section on the history of Magdalen Asylums. The section was wriiten in an unfropessional manner, and it was not related to the movie itself. Sure, the movie is about the Magdalen Asylums, but if someone is interested in knowing more about the Magdalen Asylums, they will go to its own article, which contains much more information, presented in a more clear format. The section on the history of Magdalen Asylums was useless and duplicate in my opinion.

Changed some sentences for grammar or just bad structuring. I also deleted or altered certain elements that were either unnecessarily cluttering up the character biographies or wrong. This was a great film and I made the edits last night after just watching it for the fourth or so time. Fermentor 09:50, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Image:The Magdalene Sisters poster.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

This is not supported by the source: However, the book on which the film is partly based has been shown to be a fabrication, and the allegations therefore suspect. The author of the book upon which the film is based has misled the public about her education and upbringing, and it is unlikely that she had any contact with the religious order at all.
