[edit] Cover blurb

I note that my the cover blurb I removed earlier in the day has since been restored, and recognize an explanation may be required. I would argued that the presence of cover blurbs, written by the publisher, runs counter to WP:NOT, in particular WP:NOT#SOAP, which states "Articles about companies and products are acceptable if they are written in an objective and unbiased style." I would argue that any blurb by a publisher was written as a means of selling their product. In short, the text quoted was written for promotional purposes as reflected in the point of view expressed. I write this with the recognition that the Ballantine edition (from which this blurb is taken) is no longer in print. A further point, if I may, I don't think this particular cover blurb can be considered a plot summary. Victoriagirl 16:03, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
