[edit] Removed false information
There was a line stating that the company was moving to more of an internet-based sales model rather than consultant sales. This is a false statement and was removed. AbryantOH (talk) 13:49, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Reason for high price?
Can anyone add anything to this article in reference to why the baskets are so expensive? Does the company offer some sort of really good warranty or something? I've seen used Longaberge baskets being bid up to $300 on eBay.... just curious as to why people want them. The pictures I've seen online don't make them look any different than the $5 wood baskets I see at the grocery store or the craft store.

- They are MUCH higher quality than a basket you'd see for five bucks somewhere. I agree that they are still a bit pricey for me. These baskets are expected to last for hundreds of years. NickBurns 17:22, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Company History
The Longaberger Company's success is owed largely to its interesting history. I believe that plays a large part in defining the company and I'd like to see more information compiled and posted to this page. For anyone who wants to help the [company web site] is a great place to start your research. Ithyus 18:16, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Basket headquarters
I'm currently living in Newark, OH, so it's cool to see reference of this. I added the bit about how the basket building is likely to be unique, as his daughters have vetoed constructing similar buildings since the death of their father. If necessary, I can probably get sourcing. It's one of those things that "everyone knows" around here. Me, I'm an import. Wish I also had some information on how extensive the recent layoffs were. -Fuzzy 18:49, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

- I just know that my sister, who was fairly high up the ladder and had been making a lot of money, has been devastated by the company esentially destroying her source of income. This isn't anecdotal; she lost 75% of what she was making, and expects that the rest will dry up in the next five years. NickBurns 17:25, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] "Fine" maple baskets
Removed "fine" from description of the baskets, because it sounds like an ad or a press release. 11:34, 1 March 2006 (EST) Sonobovich 16:36, 1 March 2006 (UTC)Sonobovich
[edit] Nickname
Changed "David" to "Dave", as this is how Dave Longaberger is noted in company literature and on his books. --Mitosis.C 08:42, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Product Name
Capitalized Medium Market Basket, as this name is a proper noun. --Mitosis.C 08:42, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Requested Move
This article should be moved to The Longaberger Company - Include "The" in the page name. This word is included in the company name and is capitalized in all company literature. See the company's website. --Mitosis.C 08:59, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
