[edit] Questions/Conflicts?

If anyone has any questions and/or conflicts with the information posted in Links Incorporated, please post them here. Thanks!! --Bearly541 13:16, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Page move

I suggest moving the page to The Links, Incorporated. It's the legal name of the company, judging from the logo and the book that are displayed in the article... the article should be under the legal name, with the short form redirecting to it for easier finding. — Editor at Large(speak) 13:36, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I moved it. Bearly541 04:40, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tidy

Hi Folks, I have tidied some grammar and stuff and removed some hyperbole - hope this is ok Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 11:42, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

No, it's not okay. I appreciate that you tidied the article. However, removing the organization's address is unwise. Please don't revert my edits, even though you are an administrator, since you are VERY unfamiliar with the organization. Bearly541 22:07, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] A few suggestions

User:Real96 asked me to take a look at the article, and asked my opinion about it becoming a featured article. I made a bunch of changes myself, but here are a few additional suggestions, mostly minutiae:

  • Try to collapse as many of the lists as possible into prose.
  • Watch the verb conjugation (e.g is and are). It's sort of ok, since both the organization and its members are called Links, but it would be better to be consistent. Similarly, unless we're clearly talking about the members and not the organization, I'd recommend using Links's instead of Links' for the possessive.
  • Avoid trivia sections in articles.
  • Probably ditch the color boxes (and maybe the color links) in the infobox. Everyone that can see green knows what it looks like, and the white box is invisible!
  • Watch-out for currently; avoid statements that will date quickly

The article is really good, but probably too short for a FA now. You may wish, at some time, to take it to Wikipedia:Peer review or Wikipedia:Good articles, though. All the best ×Meegs 11:05, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

Meegs, thanks so much for your edits. I changed National Pan-Hellenic Sororities to National Pan-Hellenic Council Sororities because readers may get confused with National Panhellenic Conference and National Pan-Hellenic Council. Is there any length on FAs, because recently Indian Standard Time was a FA and had about the same length as this article. Real96 12:31, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
No, there is no threshold for length, but in terms of real prose, that article is much longer than this one. Here, all we have is a handful of sections with one or two paragraphs each. It's fairly comprehensive, but not terribly detailed. Don't worry about its classification. Improve the article as best your can, and others, maybe with different resources, will come and do the same. ×Meegs 14:26, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Linksstamp.jpg

Image:Linksstamp.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
