[edit] Scott Tobin
I've removed "During 1992-93 they also featured Scott Tobin of La Cucina." from the band roster as I've never seen or heard any mention of this before so wondered if it was accurate. If someone can link to some evidence that Scott Tobin was one of the Levellers in 1992-'93 then of course it should be put back. Shinji nishizono 22:19, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Band Name
I have edited in the actual origin of the band name as explained here http://www.hebceltfest.com/festival/reviews/thur/friend.php by the band's guitarist.
I've edited the page to reflect that the source of the name is still not absolutely certain. The band rarely give the same answer twice and different band members will tell different stories about how the name came about. Since Simon wasn't a member of the band when the name was chosen, I don't think his version of the story has more credibility than any of the others. Shinji nishizono 19:05, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
Simon Friend is also avowedly apolitical, in strong contrast to the band when they formed; it's also worth noting that their debut EP, All the Free Commons of England, is a line from the Agreement of the People, a manifesto of the Levellers' movement of the 17th century. (That text is quoted here: http://books.google.com/books?id=uQerJt2Xvy0C&pg=PA150&lpg=PA150&dq=levellers+%22free+commons+of+england%22&source=web&ots=HRQQ3NZ4Oy&sig=OIR2WDA9MC5Vj4rbjOup5l7DQDk) I think that evidence needs to be considered to be at least as conclusive as an apolitical member's statement that the band wasn't named for a political party, especially since he says "we" found it in a dictionary, when he clearly wasn't part of the "we" who supposedly found it.Pstinchcombe 00:43, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] On the fiddle freeby releases
May get around to it anyway but should these not be listed somewhere. Some quite important material is here and - POV - some good material too (tho of course I wouldn't say that in the article!). Cheers --Nigel (Talk) 12:42, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] DVD ography!
OK - so I just got the latest DVD - "Chaos theory live". Very good with some old footage, acoustic and current. Made me wonder if there could or should be a section for this? Equally picking up on Nigel's point above I also have some of the OTF free releases - should they be somewhere? They are Levellers materials after all - regards --Herby talk thyme 12:21, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, why not stick a videos and DVDs section in the discography? Shinji nishizono 22:47, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ok - away for the weekend but I'll make a start of the dvd section when I'm back (tho I only have that one myself). Not that experienced so if it looks wrong do edit it and let me know. How about the fan club freebies - I do have a few of those and they are Levellers recordings (some acoustic sets, some unreleased stuff) - it is part of their "body of work"? Again not sure what the normal way of handling stuff would be? Regards --Herby talk thyme 12:11, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Citation for Samantha Mumba as an implied session singer for The Levellers
Is this REALLY true? If so is there a citation somewhere to confirm? A quick google search reveals no confirmation. Andygray75 11:27, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
