[edit] Transgender drag queen?

I don't understand how one can be a transgendered drag queen. And I don't think that Chablis technically qualifies as "transgendered." In John Berendt's introduction to "Hiding My Candy" he writes: "Chablis is a full-time transvestite. In clinical terms, she is a preoperative transexual." [page 13] So, I'm going to edit the page to say exactly that. -- Andrew Parodi 09:50, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Drag queens ARE transgendered. As are transsexuals and transvestites. It's an umbrella term for those who fall somewhere between typical binary gender modes. So the issue isn't contradiction- just redundancy. ChrisStansfield Contribs 17:36, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Purchase of Club One"

Anyone's purchase would affect her, but her own purchase of it would be different enuf to occasion making the situation clear, and also call for clarifying whether that was effected with pre-book wealth, media-related new income, or whether the club is modest enough for its purchase to be an unremarkable livelihood change for her.

[edit] Changes to article

I made a few changes - in conjunction with what was listed above:

  • I tried to clarify and expand on the issue of transgendered vs drag. Hopefully, although the details are unclear, how I phrased what we know IS clearer.
  • I removed the reference to Chablis owning Club One - I did not see that listed on Club One's website, nor in any newspapers I searched on the web. It may well be true, but we need to have something to cite as proof before it's added to the article.
