[edit] A Note on Quotations

It would only seem to make sense that all quotes of the text refer to the Aaron Asher translation (Harper Collins, 1982), which Kundera himself says (in the 1992 introduction to the translated text) is the canonical translation "To my readers, a promise: There will not be [another] English-language version of The Joke. I am, therefore, editing all quotations, unless there is reason for leaving them in another translation.

[edit] CCd amazon review?

Searching for a fragment of the text in the article lead me immediately to this page: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2E2MTD48EZLZ This article is a simple copy-paste of a review on amazon. I think it should be made clear that these are the views of *some* particular person, and therefore not universally accepted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.41.96.99 (talk) 20:35, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
