[edit] Disputed / delete
OK, so I made this page, cos these guys are mates of mine. But the thing is, they've actually got quite big, and may even warrant an entry in Wikipedia since the time I created the page. The other edits by other users have nothing to do with me. So maybe this should just be a normal VfD thing instead --User:Wonderfool/sig 20:51, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
Well they tour and put out records so I can't see why not. We should do something about the "disputed" notice, though. If you're their mate, Wonderfool, you're in a good position to sort this out? Virtually all of this - and more - is on their page at BBC Wales's though.
OK, third party sources for everything that's on the page right now: (I can't find my 'Green Eyeliner' right now, so I can't cite that, and 'Terry' might be the barest sleeve ever)
- Welsh band: BBC Wales Music page
- from Aberystwyth: band's page on Purr Record's site mentioned on info page and reviews page; BBC Wales music bio
- now in Cardiff: BBC Wales Music interview, also bio above
- line-up: BBC Wales Music main page for all but Becky cello; BBC Wales bio page mentions she played cello for orchestras in England and Wales.
- support act to Art Brut: BBC Wales Music interview, above
- Becky dating Bert: one for you, Wonderfool; I'd heard something like this, though.
- Beth dating Luke: again, one for you Wonderfool
- Discography: main text needs an edit now they've released four singles, but we've got details for all of them so that's OK:
- All Washed Up EP: mentioned on BBC Wales bio but they say 2003; there's this review which says Nov 2002 but no telling how old the record was then
- Drowsing Nymph: BBC Wales Music review dated 16th June 2003 though; this link has the sleeve graphics
- Dawn Of Man: again, reviewed by BBC Wales date 8th March 2004
- Green Eyeliner: Purr site (where you can hear clips!) has release date 27th September 2004 and there's a BBC Wales review too
- Terry: actually this is a double-A, so should really be "Terry / Love In Practice, Not Theory" - mea culpa. BBC review, 7th November 2005. First on label mentioned in the interview above.
so all looks OK but can't find sources for the dating. Wonderfool, you're probably the best person to cast an eye over this and remove the disputed flag if you're happy with it. Ta. Rup 01:01, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
I'm also a friend of the band from Aberystwyth and can vouch for the fact that the 'dating' is true. Also they did a single before 'All Washed Up' called 'The Future's Such A Beautiful Place' which was self-released on cd-r.
