[edit] Garage Rock

This really isn't a music genre. The Hives are more of a punk band.Jacknife737 01:13, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

garage rock is widely regarded as on of the frist branchs of rock and roll it even though it not in the main stream today doesnt mean it not a genre your only making your self look like a moron by saying it isntthe hives as well as the von bondies white strips and the strokes are only some of the bands today who are call gerage rock and are in the main stream, so yes it is a genre

Watch the personal attacks, and you didn't adress my point, the Hives are clearly influenced by punk rock. Jacknife737 15:59, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

As well I did a google search, Hives Punk Rock found 906,000 hits, while Hives Garage Rock found 323,000 hits. Jacknife737 16:08, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

yo, the hives are known as a garage rock band. most people who are fans of the hives would tell you that.

The Hives are a garage rock band that plays with a punk influence. currently the article is accurate. they definitley do have a huge punk influence as evidenced on "barely legal" but they generally have more in common with garage rock bands then punk bands. Are you actually citing Google search as a factual reference? I just googled "chocolate vanilla" and "chocolate strawberry". "Chocolate vanilla" yielded more, so, that means chococolate is really vanilla and not strawberry? They are a garage rock band, and that doesn't rule out they have punk influences. Also, garage rock IS a genre, which was originated time ago and is experiencing a revival, with bands such as The Hives as their flags. Caoslinger (talk) 18:29, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 3rd album, last album?

I never heard this anywhere so I placed a citation needed. After about a year after the third album was released I already began hearing that they were back in the studio. If someone could please provide a citation we could keep that bit in there. PrettyMuchBryce 12:35, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

Hmmm considering that their fourth album has been released the "fact" that album 3 was their last is incorrect. Doc Strange (talk) 01:07, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Well, "The black and white album" was really there fifth, if you count "your new favourite band" As an album —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.253.194.22 (talk) 12:36, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] DVD

Hey, I just added a section for their new DVD, Tussles in Brussels. It's fairly new, anyone want to update with the exact information? --Mankvill 00:52, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Picture

Not the best picture of the Hives. Pelle looks like that guy from My Chemical Romance, kind of emo/goth. The picture should reflect his and the rest of the Hives' real personality.

If you can find a better free alternative, please go ahead and do so. Though the current picture really isnt that bed, I do see where you're coming from. Glassbreaker5791 20:30, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Name

THE HIVES ROCK —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.20.98.113 (talk) 09:50, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Why are they named "The Hives"? What's the history behind the naming of the band?

They were going through Dr. Matts library, and found it there. I suppose it was in some medical book.

I always thought it was after the STD Titan50 (talk)

Hives is a rash, usually an allergic reaction. Not an STD. 75.190.228.187 (talk) 07:09, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

They said they found it in a dictionary and thought it was an infectious disease, like a plague. They made it plural because most good bands are. Info from www.thehivesbrodcastingservice.nu —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.253.194.22 (talk) 12:38, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
