[edit] Contesting Speedy Delete notice
Very notable, well-known, and important group in its genre. Meets at least two notability requirements for music: "Is cited in notable and verifiable sources as being influential in style, technique, repertory or teaching in a particular music genre" (it would take some time to find the references, but they're definitely out there) and "Is frequently covered in publications devoted to a notable sub-culture." That last one is a gimme with a quick Google test. The band name is difficult to search without getting irrelevant hits, but a search on "gx jupitter-larsen" alone gets over 16,000 hits. In addition, here is the allmusic.com listing. I honestly didn't figure I would have to justify this article. MrBook 21:03, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Having taken a closer look, It appears to me like attempting to judge the worth of the article using the traditional music notability criteria may not be appropriate for it. I agree that speedy is not appropriate, so I will put on the AfD notice and seek a consensus. I reckon it will be kept, but feel that the article could do with a little more verification within it of this group's cultural importance and influence. Hynca-Hooley 21:10, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
- Reading over the article, I agree that it could use some more importance-asserting. I'm working on it, starting with the easy part, the allmusic entry. (Note to self: From now on, do this step first when creating articles.) MrBook 21:19, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
