[edit] Naming
I just wanted to express my openness for other suggestions on how to name this article. I created "The Green (Dartmouth College)" after a quick decision of what the best options were, but there really isn't any single best name.
- The Green is already used as a disambiguation page, so I added "(Dartmouth College)" to disambiguate it. Among students (of which I am one) and I think the community at large, "the Green" is its standard name.
- It is, however, officially known as The College Green, as stated in the article. Given the relatively unused nature of that name, I figured it was best to go with the more common one; also, the title wouldn't say which college it belonged to.
- It is sometimes known as The Dartmouth Green. However, the Dartmouth Big Green are sometimes referred to by the same name, so that could be confusing.
Anyway, I just wanted to throw that out there. I've never been completely satisfied with "The Green (Dartmouth College)," so if anyone has a proposal for a better way to name is disambiguate it, I'd be happy to discuss it. Just wanted to drop that line. Dylan 17:24, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notable
I fail to see how "a grass-covered field and common space" is notable. --andreasegde (talk) 14:14, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
