- I would like that the anonymous person above tell us why the article is not neutral. Anyone is free to improve the article with all existing points of views and nobody has tried to add or change anything so far. As far as I know neither the Moroccan police nor the prosecutor have made any statement in the case so far so it is impossible at this point to reliably state was they might think. So unless there is a real conflict of point of view I propose to remove the npov tag within a month -- User:uiteoi -- 2/20/08.
- I added today to references to Maghreb Arab Press which seems to be the official news channel for the Moroccan authorities. I will continue to add references to other news channels to make this article as npov as possible -- User:uiteoi -- 2/21/08.

This article may have a problem with the 'single event' rule. -- User:uiteoi -- 2/20/08.
I believe nonetheless that this article is of paramount importance because this is the first time world-wide that the creation of a facebook profile led to the imprisoning of an individual. This story will develop and we will need a place to document the upcoming events as this story unfolds and that would be inappropriate to cover in the facebook article. -- User:uiteoi -- 2/20/08.
There are now 14 international news channels references and 21 blog sites following this story. I believe this significantly increases the notability of Fouad Mourtada who is quickly becoming an icon for freedom of speech and human rights in Morocco -- User:uiteoi -- 2/21/08.

- It looks that way. But Fouad isn't opposing the regime nor anything of the sort. His case is used to point out to the abuses and miscarriages of justice everybody already knows about. His prank is the only notable thing about him. Heck, he even apologized in court and stated that he respects the prince very much. He ain't a martyr nor an icon, period! His name is just one among countless others. I do agree that the absurdity and surreal character of the case grants it a special status, but that's the same thing that would allow a "Fouad Mourtada Affair" on the Wiki in the first place. [edit] References removal
On 25 February 2008, Lixy (talk) removed 11 news references. Even though a number of these references where relating the same event, these references were relevant for the notability of the case and its wide world-wide coverage. I believe that removing a large number of news references or selecting some references over others may be seen as a point of view. - Smacking a hundred and one references in the intro comes out as a desperate attempt to give the guy notoriety. It's tacky at best. The practice would be tolerated on a very controversial article, but this one is clear cut. If somebody has issues regarding POV, let him/her take it here and we can discuss it. That said, feel free to add those references somewhere at the end of the article, just not the intro.
