I changed the redirect back from "The Thirty Years War." The last and most destructive of the great European religious wars is slightly more significant than a prog-rock band.

The drum kit isnt black!

Where is the proof of him using a "**Marshall
 JCM900 1960A Slant 4x12 cabinet"
Every picture of him on tour is only with the 2 orange cabinets.

I think this is in reference to the thirty years' war page (from the link at the bottom) where he says that's what he uses. He probably doesn't use it anymore though. 24.60.196.65 14:52, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

User:XtacoX - just wanted to say your small edits make the article sound much better Jubella 19:12, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

yeah i've seen a lot of pics with him using that amp. I even have one with him using it. L33TGuy 18:00, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Is this an encyclopedia article or a damn fan page. Good job guys... seriously... fan boys.

Well usually, your said "fan boy pages" provide a lot more info than some of the shit band pages out there. And fuck Wiki's policies=) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dimedude (talkcontribs) 13:56, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disambig page needed

There should be a disambig page for this...there is a classical work by the same name, as well as an often-covered ballad. A google search turns up a lot. Turly-burly 16:24, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

It's fine. L33TGuy 18:01, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Just throw in a disamb. line at the top. Also, I don't thing the old artile should be merged, it was a different band, and it had members that arent in this one.

it seems like there should just be a 30 years war section under the fall of troy article, this whole thing is like one band that is evolving over time. Zopwx2 22:47, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Who put that part about Tribune in history? Tim (Ward) said that Jay Beaman was the drummer, not Zach. Here's my reference (Tyim is Timothy Ward) http://windflame.net/fot/forums/index.php?showtopic=2755&st=0&#entry58009

--Ciaranpower 13:25, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

ANyone have any information about the the lighting effects guy? I saw them in Endicott NY and some weird guy I've never seen before pop out of their tour band named Kyle I believed. He then went on stage as the guy who strobes and flashes the light to the music.

Isn't it time to delete/clean up the "Breakup Rumors" part? This is old information and probably wasn't encyclopedia-worthy in the first place. It's all pretty much junk stuff anyway, unless the part about them touring nonstop can be put somewhere else. 24.60.196.65 14:52, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Citations Needed

"The Fall of Troy draws from the progressive roots of bands like Rush (a stated influence) and King Crimson, while also combining it with the modern experimental sound influenced by bands like At the Drive-In and The Blood Brothers.[citation needed]"

It says that in the thanks and whatnot part of the booklit that came with the Doppleganger cd.. I don't know that was be cited though, so if anyway else knows how, you could do it. I'll post up what it exactly says once I get out of school sometime later. (-Kid. 16:51, 7 May 2007 (UTC))

What booklet is this? I didn't get one with my doppelganger. But I think you would use the <*ref><*/ref> tags (without the stars) and put something like "TFOT promotional Doppelganger booklet, page whatever, Equal Vision records, 2005" or something. That may not be exactly right but it gets rid of the ugly cite needed tag. If you're unsure how to use the ref tags tell me here and I'll explain it clearer for you. Good find on the booklet thing! Olliemilne 17:01, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Why would you need an actual citation for this? I'd consider the albums themselves to be a fairly reliable source for influences, when you can hear it in the music.
Because it says "a stated influence" - stated where? By who? Its like saying "some people think..." who are some people? You have to be clear. Olliemilne 18:54, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Falloftroypromo.jpg

Image:Falloftroypromo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Split EP

In an interview I filmed for UCast (University of Cincinnati's student television station) on October 27, 2007 at the Mad Hatter in Covington, KY Thomas said that the split EP was just a rumor.JaredX 23:48, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Who Killed This Page?

I have noticed that this page has been reworked but I have stumbled upon many problems, chief among them are the following:

1. Whilst using the search toolbar, there is no longer a redirection to the band, The Fall of Troy, upon using the search bar. (Now if 'the fall of troy' is typed into the search toolbar, one is automatically redirected to an article concerning the famed Turkish city of Troy)

2. There is no longer a link to a discography section.

3. The writing style of this page since it's reworking is unsophisticated. The writing itself is comprised of useful facts, which is commendable, however it is not written in an easy-to-follow manner.

If anyone at all wouldn't mind addressing one or all of these problems I would be most greatful.

Bakalakadaka (talk) 23:34, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I've addressed these problems, or at least most of them. I cleaned up the grammer, use of italics and quotes, added a "Discography" and "Videography" section, and added a link to this page from the historical fall of Troy page. However, the problem with the writing style has not been addressed yet. Enjoy! Machu505 (talk) 01:52, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] really

frank black? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.101.186.71 (talk) 05:14, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Not Frank Black aka Black Francis, former Pixies front man. Go look at the TFOT Myspace and you can see a photo of him and you'll clearly notice that he is as far from that particular Frank Black as is possible to be. Olliemilne (talk) 05:27, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The debut album fault

Theballsoftroy (talk) 14:40, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

It says that the only song written by the Thirty Years War was "Reassurance Rests in the Sea", yet on the Thirty Years War's live album, Live at the Paradox, they perform Spartacus, F.C.P.S.I.T.S.G.E.P.G.E.P.G.E.P.,Mouths Like Sidewinder Missiles, and Rockstar Nailbomb... all songs from the eponymous debut. Either I am mistaken about who and when Live at the Paradox was recorded or there's a confusing mistake in this that needs to be fixed.
